Bala movies live in action...

After watching Naan Kadavul I was pretty doubtful about the beggars and the kind of life they live. Traffic Signal and Naan Kadavul really made me think a lot. Recently I traveled from Vellore to Salem in a government bus. In Dharmapuri bus stand I saw the same set of characters portrayed in the movie.

An owner to these beggars… these people chatting and making fun after begging. And more than all, I saw people working nearby borrowing money from them. All this happened in a span of 20 mins. I was surprised to see auctions in bus. As portrayed by Surya in Pitha Magan, there is this guy who started auctioning a bed sheet for Rs.10 and the rules are: whoever quotes a price will be given a gift worth Rs.5. It may be a face mirror or a small plastic comb. So passengers started acting smart. The bed sheet auction went till Rs.240 and still increasing. I was really surprised. It’s just his tone which drove people to quote for more price. He was talking nonstop till the bidding stopped. And you know what… he sold the bed sheet for Rs.310 which is not even worth for Rs.200. The funnier part is that he started collecting back the gifts which he gave by cursing them for being so stringy. No one was ready to fight with him for that gift as it is a matter of their ego. That’s all. He got down happily. I felt like I saw the theatrical version of Bala movies...
