We had a Sound Design Workshop by Rajivan Ayyappan. We were exposed to concepts like soundscape, sound mapping etc.. In the first few days, he made us roam around the campus and near by areas to observe different kinds of sounds generated naturally. Further we were asked to collect any waste / useless material from campus and explore various possibilities of generating unique sounds from it. Initially we were trying to make sounds with patterns which were sounding good but he encouraged us to get rid of the patterns and generate sounds which are absract in nature.In the end of the course, we did a 10 minutes performance in Bubble Square, NID Gandhinagar Campus. Even though none of the students from other departments understood what we are trying to perform, they gathered around, enjoyed and applauded.
