I used to get some sort of crazy solutions to common questions like how to make a glass, how video signal comes into television etc when I was 8 or 9. One of them is how to manufacture the glass.

My theory:
1. Stretch a big polythene sheet (transparent one used for packing)
2. Pour water uniformly
3. Cover with another big polythene sheet
4. Freeze it and seal the ends.
Supportive statements:
1. As the ends are sealed, the ice inside wont melt. (sorry I didn't know the concept of heat conduction in that age)
This theory of mine got shattered when I saw broken glass pieces during a car accident. None of them melted after they broke :-(
